On 25th October 2023, the DigiBUILD project organised its first technical workshop entitled ‘Innovation and Usability: designing tomorrow’s energy efficiency services for building users’.

The workshop programme was full of engaging presentations from project partners, including sister projects and input from members of the Advisory Board. The session was interactive and participants shared their experiences and provided valuable feedback on the concept and usability of the DigiBUILD services.

The meeting, featuring speakers from EPU-NTUA, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Spa, Università Politecnica delle Marche, and the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy Foundation (IEECP), along with guest speakers from CARTIF and the Technical University of Cluj Napoca, was a crucial step in the project’s advancement. The collaborative and dynamic format of the workshop enabled participants to understand the latest developments in the DigiBUILD project and to exchange ideas within the smart buildings community.

We had the opportunity to host two other projects, the DEDALUS project and the BuildON project. The former was presented by Tudor Cioara from the University of Cluj-Napoca, while the coordinator of the BuildON project, Sofía Mulero Palencia of CARTIF, gave an overview of such a related project, where AI analytics and services will provide digital twins for building performance simulation.
